"Come over to the factory now, we have a cargo to pick from the dock and need to get to the here in the next one hour", the voice at the other end said sharply as he disconnected the call swiftly as if he was being watched.
I dropped my phone on the bed immediately the call ended and I stood up. I dragged myself up from the bed reluctantly.
The time was 6:48am and I was still enjoying my sleep until the call came in. It disrupted the sweet dreams I was having and I had already cursed the caller under my breath before I realised that it was my boss. He really did deserve the curse because I was having a fantastic romantic dream. I can't be single in reality and still single in my dream.
I rubbed my eyes lazily for a clearer view while getting up from bed. I zoomed to the bathroom as soon as I got up and I was done in 15 minutes.
I dressed up within 20 minutes and I was just about to prepare some breakfast for myself when my phone rang.
"Hello. Where are you", my boss screamed from the other side of the call.
"I'm inside a cab already", I lied and I was proud of my lie.
"We still have along drive ahead of us. Just be fast", he said as he disconnected the call.
I abandoned the breakfast I wanted to prepare and I dashed out of the house.
My name is Gideon and I work at the brewery. I got the job two months ago after I lost my former job and my new job involves me doing various work at the factory, including the transportation of goods.
My boss that called me earlier wasn't actually my boss. He was just like a boss to me and we usually transport goods together. He drives the vehicle and I assist.
I arrived at the factory about an hour later and my boss was already inside the vehicle that we are going to use in picking up the container. I got in as soon as I sighted him and he started the engine of the transporter immediately.
We got to the port about five hours later.
The port was quite big and busy. There were lot of people, vehicles, especially transporters and cargoes at the port.
My boss gave me the description of the container we were to pick and he told me to that he wouldn't be able to follow me because he is tired. He has been driving for the past five hours, so I obliged. I collected the description from him and I got down from the vehicle.
I searched for the container and I was able to identify it in less than ten minutes even though the description I collected was blur. BE3XT5 was the identification number that was on the container and it tallied with the number that was on the paper my boss gave me.
The container was loaded on the transporter for us and we took off immediately. We bought some few snacks on our way and we got back to the factory around 6:30pm
We had another five hours drive back to the factory. It was already late as by time we got back and it was only the gateman and the security guy that was left in the compound. Everyone else has gone home.
We took the factory key from the security guy and we opened the factory, drove the vehicle inside and we unloaded the container.
I was just about to bade him goodbye when he told me to get one beer from the container we just offloaded.
"Let's chill a bit before going home", he said and I obeyed.
I grinned and dashed to the back of the container immediately. The thought of getting myself drunk that night was making me beam with smiles.
I was still smiling and rubbing my tummy in impeding satisfaction when I unlocked the container. The content of the container rendered me speechless.
Rather than seeing the crates of beer and drinks, I was seeing corpses and body parts of people. Different part of body part were scattered in every angle while some corpse were piled on each other.
I realized that I picked the wrong container when I was searching for it at the seaport. I was just about to scream and inform my boss when the doors of shut itself with a very loud bang.
